Winds where very high Saturday shutting down flight demos, wind chill was quite extreme for Florida but its a nice change from 90º Christmas / New years. No Sweating is a plus
I did go Early Friday, real bad weather moved in an shut down the event 20 min’s after I bought my wrist band, fortunately they honored it the next day.
My Favorite Sebring Hanger was occupied with a Boeing 727 that I was told was stranded at the airport
Hanger not quite tall enough
Interesting exposed Thrust Reverser Grates
Just Aircraft Super STOL XL with Slats and boosted Ailerons
A very good performer in previous flight demos.
the Infamous Alaskan Bush Wheels
Merlin Single Seat LSA for a high wing option.
Keith was impressed with the cockpit space on this LSA
Tandem Seat LSA
Impressive Heavy Duty Bush landing gear
Some very light weight wheel and break options
quite the sharp looking Lark V nose toy haler with all the bells and whistles
a newer model 911
Good looking Tecnam interior
well styled cowling
lots of little welds on this Cub copy
Wing carry mechanism on this S10 Motor Glider
looks like a Star Trek inspired wing tip / nav light holder
inboard connection uses a pin parallel to the span, a clever way to avoid having to provide additional access or a pin mechanism
a new Sea Plane design, some parts like the Horizontal Stab are just a Demo part
For General Aviation airports, Sebring has one of my favorite terminals
Keith and I at the local Airport burger place.
Driving from the west coast of Florida with Keith to the event in our C5 Vette’s was quite fun, while most light aircraft where grounded for the day, with the low stance and slippery shape you could barley tell the winds where so bad driving in our C5’s
